The role of PMU is to provide high quality technical support to ensure that maximum effectiveness is achieved from investment in the sector, whether from donor or from Government funding.

It will do this by employing qualified and competent staff in the following fields:

1- Project management.

2- Private sector participation.

3- Contracts management.

4- Utilities regulation.

5- Financial management.

6- Legal support.

In addition to the technical skills required to carry out these functions, the PMU will also ensure that positive and beneficial relationships are maintained with existing and future donors, with the water utilities and with other key stakeholders in the water sector, including the National Water Advisory Council.
